Announcing Anxiety/Depression Support

Tucson Wesley is in the beginning stages of creating a support system, which will provide a safe haven for students who are experiencing depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. In Wesley, you will be met with love and support, not judgment, by others who can relate to what you are going through.

According to the American College Health Association, suicide among young adults aged 15 to 24 is the second leading cause of death among college students. These young people are often away from home and friends for the first time. They’re living with strangers, far from their support systems, and working under intense pressure — with disrupted sleeping, eating, and exercise patterns. You could hardly design a more stressful atmosphere. (Liz Duxbury, College and Teen Suicide Statistics, in About Parenting).

Tucson Wesley Anxiety/Depression Support plans on collaborating with University of Arizona counseling services by referring and even walking with students to seek services, as well as by hosting educational workshops.

More information will be available soon.
